Our Projects
We work to educate about Colorado’s agricultural lands and legacy and to provide a platform for rural leadership and engagement in support of secure, equitable, and resilient food systems and communities.
Our current projects include
-
Regenerative Gardens & Classroom
Our outdoor community learning, teaching and growing space at Arbol Farm, near Paonia - and our home office.
And our associated community-based education and service. -
Healthy Lands & Watersheds
The public lands that surround our valley’ communities safeguard the headwaters and sources for the water supply that allows our farms and communities to thrive, offer outstanding recreation and outdoor opportunities, habitat and climate resilience.
-
Community & Foodshed Resilience
Secure foodsheds have systems to feed those who live and work there. Food infrastructure and supply chains benefit a vibrant community and local economy, and the well-being of farmers, workers and community-members, especially those who may be in greater need, is a priority of community endeavors.
-
Farm & Food System Support
Rural resilience and wellness is tied closely to the vitality and health of our farms and the agricultural community. This programming seeks to support farm-based conservation practices that support farm health and to promote farmer and worker well-being.
-
Rural Climate Leadership
We support community partnerships to develop clean energy that integrates with rural livelihoods, share information on the climate emergency impacting the Gunnison River basin, and we advocate for solutions, and elevate examples of local leadership, to address it.
-
Mountain Roots/Healthy Futures-Americorps
Healthy Futures AmeriCorps places service members across rural Colorado and since 2024 AmeriCorps member Sarsa Buck has supported our mission at the CO Farm & Food Alliance to strengthen local farms and food security.
